The Art of BOTOX® injections
We have used BOTOX® injections
to treat facial lines and furrows for several years and it has proved safe
and effective. Since BOTOX® was approved for frown lines by the FDA on April
15th, 2002, the number of our BOTOX® patients has doubled and we are seeing
more men requesting it. And there are new ways to use it.
BOTOX® relaxes
the muscles that cause the wrinkles and therefore the skin
is smoothed. It is injected with a tiny needle and a typical
treatment session lasts about 10 minutes. You see the improvement
within a couple of days and the results last four months.
BOTOX® has revolutionized the treatment of the aging face. Several new uses
have been developed and BOTOX® injections are now by far the most common
office prodedure. Some of the effects of BOTOX® are:
-
Chemical brow lift. The art of
BOTOX® use involves a lot more than erasing wrinkles. It is a carefully individualized
treatment plan to lift, shape and arch the eyebrows. The skin can be numbed
with anesthetic cream before BOTOX® injections. The correct amount of BOTOX®
in injected precisely into the treated muscle to relax it. (If not enough
BOTOX® is used, the result is short-lived.) The effect can be seen within
days and lasts four to six months. After several treatments, the results
last longer.
