Liposuction Body Sculpturing in New York City

Liposuction in New York started out years ago as a simple procedure to flatten out unwanted bulges of fat. Because of many refinements, we can now achieve a great deal more.
- The shape and size of an entire part of the body -whether it is the thigh or the arm or the neck- can be refined in all dimensions and circumferentially. That is what body sculpturing means.
- The stomach, waist, love handles, and back can be corrected together to reduce and improve contour all around.
- Superficial liposuction and sub-dermal tunneling can tighten the skin and improve cellulite.
- With the tumescent technique we inject saline into the tissues before liposuction. This prevents blood loss and minimizes discomfort and bruising after the procedure.
- We use very fine cannulas which glide through the tissues. These small cannulas leave tiny (one eighth of an inch) well hidden scars and a smooth contour after liposuction.
- We never remove more than eight pounds of fat during a single liposuction treatment. This is the key to safety in outpatient liposuction.
- We also don’t do “awake” liposuction. Depending on your individual requirements, you can have twilight sleep, epidural or general anesthesia. These anesthesia techniques also provide additional control and safety in liposuction.
- Most liposuction patients no longer need compression garments which can be uncomfortable. You go home in sweatpants and many patients choose to wear spandex bicycling shorts under their clothing after a few days.
- Most patients return to work or school in a few days (2-7) after liposuction, depending on what areas are treated and how much you had done.
- For selected patients, we can use special equipment such as power assisted liposuction, ultrasound assisted liposuction, and vaser liposuction which can improve the results.
- We now also routinely use liposuction together with other cosmetic procedures such as tummy tuck, breast reduction, and inner thigh lift. This combination of techniques has led to safer and more attractive body sculpturing.
