Breast Reduction Information

Breast reduction is an out-patient procedure with little pain and a quick recovery. Dr. Beraka performs minimal scar breast reduction. Some women can have scarless breast reduction with liposuction. Most women need a lollipop scar. Nipple sensation is almost always preserved. Just before the end of the procedure, Dr. Beraka checks that you have the best possible size, shape, and symmetry.

Many plastic surgeons shape the breasts during a breast reduction by tightening the skin (creating a tighter "skin bra"). Dr. Beraka believes that this is not a good technique, because skin stretches and sagging will come back. So the breasts have to be shaped and lifted from the inside with internal sutures. There is no pulling on the skin.
